Announcement: My second poetry book is coming soon!

Hey everyone!

In November I will publish my second poetry book entitled: ‘My Whisperings’.

This book will contain a number of my best dark and light poems and of course a selection of some new black and white photographic artwork!

It will be for sale on Amazon and CreateSpace.

I will also have a little surprise for you in December, but that will be a secret for now. 😉

Soft and gentle

They escape my unwilling lips

Like a tiny waterfall

Unstoppable

They fall

One last call

To you

Hesitatingly

Honestly

Words from the heart

The soul

Whisperings

Almost musical

Like a soft summer rain

Little drops

Of love

Of pain

Uncatchable

They fall

From my trembling lips

Against my will

Dark poetry for today: Covered in darkness

Covered in darkness

 –

Hollow eyes, a distant stare

Consumed by sadness and grief

Overflowing with despair

Death would be a relieve

 –

Cold heart, a fake smile

Broken by failure and unable to cope

Drowning for quite a while

Deprived of all hope

 –

Feelings numb, a bitter mind

Tortured by frozen memories

Long lost desire to be kind

Living and breathing, such futilities

 –

Vanished strength, no more fighting

Captured in a never-ending horror story

Exposed wounds keep on bleeding

There is no one who can save me

– 

Naked spirit, stripped of all

Never knew any happiness

Lost wings, sure to fall

I’m just a soul, bounded by shadows

and covered in darkness

Poetry: No Regret

No regret

 –

You lied to me

But I love you still

Although it’s hesitant

And against my will

 –

You hurt me

Frequently and a lot

Always seem to know

To hit the right spot

 –

You left me

Over and over

But I still hold on

Suppressing pain and anger

You love me

I know that you do

So I never feel regret

A little about Jane

Wisconsin native Jane Johann, is a retired Reading Specialist and Language Arts Teacher. Jane received her undergraduate degree from Marquette University, where she earned a B.A., majoring in English Literature and a minor in Secondary Education (1974). She attained her M.A. as a Specialist in the Acquisition of Language and Reading Instruction, K-12, graduate of Cardinal Stritch University (1994).

On a personal note, Jane says:

“I was baptized a Catholic and raised by my Mom, Agnes, and my Dad, Marvin, who both had a strong work ethic and deep faith. They brought into the world eleven children…with 10 siblings, I experienced much LIFE in my growing-up years!

I have found that words have influenced much of my life…words can create…words can destroy. I hope that I may write words that will express my deepest emotions and feelings, while at the same time, give hope and meaning to life for others.

I have three daughters, two grandchildren, and live in the countryside, outside of Palmyra, Wisconsin, USA.”

The quiet of the night

the quiet of the night

has come upon me

as I sit here in the silence

and listen to the absence

my heart tiptoes

across the syllables of mist

deep within the recesses of my heart

wondering where you are

when will I find you

what is this longing

I feel within

what is it that keeps me searching

why have you eluded me

I find YOU

in the children’s smiles

I find YOU in my friends

I find YOU in the SUN

I find YOU in the MOON

I find YOU in the Stars

yet…I am restless still…

To me, Jane is a beautiful and rare kind soul who I have known since I began blogging. I am very blessed and proud to call her my friend.

Dark poetry: Vengeance

Vengeance

 –

Dauntless

With a knife between my teeth

I search for vengeance

Indifferent for hell’s heath

 –

Fearless

All of my senses ready

Chances explored and weighted

Waiting for my time patiently

 –

Careless

I nurture my grudges

Until I get my opportunity

To burn you to ashes

 –

Heartless

I grin when I finally avenge

What you did all this time ago

And I get my revenge

 –

Ruthless

Ice cold justice got served

In my heart, there’s no compassion

You got what you deserved
