A Monorhyme for Valentine
I wanted to take a moment to share my highlights of 2016 with you 🙂
I had a pretty awesome year!
Sure, there were some bumps on the road, but an awesome year for sure. 🙂
I know that I have not been around much because I’ve been so busy, so I want to thank you all for sticking around ❤
First of all, my third fantasy book and the last one in the Drägan Duma trilogy got published in June!
I had a great book presentation and am pretty proud of myself and my hubby for making this possible 🙂
It’s such a great feeling to finish a trilogy!
The love of my life ❤ I owe him a lot!
I have been to many events to promote and sign my books
Had a lot of fun with Team Celtica and met a lot of new people 🙂
We went to Curacao because our friends got married there! ❤
The day I saw my uncle on stage at Parkpop (a large festival in Holland) is one of the happiest days of my life. Not only did our uncle survive a terrible accident, he even managed to perform life on stage again within the year!
And my nephew Justin released his first CD, I am a very proud aunt!
I don’t like to be around a lot of people, I don’t like to be the center of attention and I am always wanting to stay where it’s “safe”.
But this year I did a lot of things that are way out of my comfort zone!
I am so glad that I did this, it was awesome! (thanks to Jeffrey, who has been such a great friend to me.)
We took a leap of faith with each other and I am so glad we did. I can’t even explain what this guy means to me! ❤
You guys know he’s a writer too, right? Check out his blog at www.jeffreydebris.com 🙂
And last but not least, we’ve sold 1000 books of Zij Die Hoort, the first book in the series! 🙂
(in Holland, that’s a lot lol!)
I can’t help but thinking back at the times I thought that my life would never get better. The times I felt like I was living in a nightmare.
But it did get better. Way better!
So, for everyone who is still having a hard time; hold on, keep fighting. It will be worth it some day ❤
Wishing you all an awesome, magical and loving 2017!
Lots of love,
A little while ago, I was invited to pitch my books at Bart’s Book Club here in Holland.
I was so nervous because I am not that great in performing on stage. But I did it! 🙂
Now, people can vote for the best pitch and the winner may do an interview with Bart on the last show of the season.
So… I would ask you all if you would vote for me because this is an awesome opportunity!
You can vote through Facebook by follow this LINK and choose “Patty van Delft” before hitting the ‘Stem’ (vote) button.
No Facebook? No problem! You can also vote HERE! 🙂
My dear friend Jeffrey Debris is also in this competition, so if you could click on his name too that would be awesomeness! 🙂
You can see my pitch as well before you vote, although it’s in Dutch, it might be fun to see how nervous I really was hahaha.
Lots of Love,
Besides writing and seeing my books getting published, one of the greatest things of being a writer is that I get to hang out with other writers.
One of them became one of my best friends! Last Saturday his second novel got published and I was there! 🙂
It was a great day and I am so very proud of him. I also really love his books!
Besides being an awesome Sci-Fi / Fantasy writer (he writes in English guys!!!) he is also a very kind and fun person to be around.
Do me (but mostly yourself) a favor and check out his Facebook page were you can find information about his books, his adventures
as a writer and book reviews —> Jeffrey Debris
Oh! And he also makes great quotes! ❤
Don’t forget to visit him and say “hi!”.
Sharing will be highly appreciated!
Lots of Love,
Addicted to you
You enchant me
Can’t escape your
I am addicted to you
You attract me
I just need
You’re an alluring light
You overwhelm me
Powerless against your
I am addicted to you
You lure me
I am craving
You’re a bittersweet delight
You caught me
Stole my heart
Until it stops
I am addicted to you…
I wrote this for someone who became one of my best friends quite fast.
Thank you for letting me believe in true friendship again.
I can’t imagine my life without you anymore…
Leap of faith
There is no safety net
Other than the words you said
And the things I feel
Dreary days of yore
Filled with grief
I’ve never shared before
It still needs to heal
There is much uncertainty
It’s a leap of faith
To let you look inside of me
And remove my soul’s seal
I decided to believe you
And took the plunge
Friends always stay true
That is the deal
There is no parachute
Your promises sound cute
But are they for real?
Suspicious, damaged heart
But filled with hope
Showing you my weakest part
It still feels surreal
There is no warranty
No back-up plan
Only trust in loyalty
To melt a heart of steel
With a leap of faith I found
A friendship for life
Sweet and profound
As time shall reveal…
