Insane things

in my life

But

the Craziest

I ever did was falling

Madly

Insanely

Unexpectedly

in Love with you

And I knew

I could never

Should never

Have you as my own

I shouldn’t let you live

Under my skin

In my heart

My soul

I wanted to

Kiss you

But I shouldn’t

Should have left you

But I couldn’t

because you are still

Under my skin

And in my heart

Why can’t I just

Forget you

Walk away

from you

Why do I still

Feel you

Deep within

Throwback Thursday: Battling A Memory Monster

On ‘Throwback Thursdays’ I want to share some older Poems and post of mine. I hope you will enjoy!

Today I want to share an article with you I wrote some time ago entitled ‘Battling A Memory Monster’.

It’s an article about PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome)

I think it’s very important to know that a lot of people are battling this. Especially around the Holidays! 

Not just veterans, but also victims of violence, abuse and other traumatic experiences.

I have severe PTSD myself and I want to give the people who are battling this, and any other mental condition, a voice, strength and support.

Please, read it. It might give you a better understanding of something that is not visible.

My Wings by Patty Van Delft is a moving collection of poetry. In part 1,Patty leaves no holes barred in expressing raw emotions of loss, depression and hopelessness. However all is not dark. There glimmers the light of hope and optimism. Love and a zest for life is evident in the second part of Patty’s book.

Patty has accomplished the difficult task of being searingly honest about highly personal and emotional issues. This book is well worth reading.

Alone

–

Inside

I feel Alone

Abandoned

By every living Soul

I try to

Hide

The mental

And emotional

Suicide

I try to commit

Every day

Just

Stay away

Because I think I

Already Died

Inside

All Alone

I am beyond

Saving

Many have tried

But still I am

Breaking

Although I’m breathing

Still alive

But slowly dying

Inside

Just Alone

My tears all

Dried

Bittersweet sedation

Embraced by pain

Nothing more to

Gain

Shattered trust and broken

Pride

I am beyond fixing
