Reliving
Sharp pieces
of a faded memory
Rushing
Before my eyes
I can’t escape this agony
Hiding
In my mind
While bruises heal
Scars get ripped open
And the past becomes real
Falling
Without a parachute
The things that happened before
My wounds remind of them
I don’t want this anymore
Hiding
Locking my heart
The only way I know how
to survive
The sharp pieces of
this unpredictable
Life…

The writing in this piece is very sharp Patty – I think we can all empathise with you and the catharsis that writing brings to the table. Your words take us on a journey of discovery and redemption. Thank you for sharing and look forward to reading more of your work throughout this NaPoWriMo and beyond.
Thank you very much.

There is a lot of pain in this beautifully written poem. Hugs.
Thank you Michelle.
Yes, there is. PTSD flashbacks are sometimes hard to deal with, but writing sure helps!
