Dragon Adventure!

Hey everyone!

As you may have read in my last post, I am back and want to share a new adventure with you. (If you missed why I was away for so long, you can read it HERE)

Inbetween all that has happened with my parents and more, I did manage to keep writing for a while. The Drägan Duma series are completed and I am busy with a new series, Terras Altas; a steampunk fantasy story!
As of last year, two of the 4 novels are published in the Netherlands and Belgium.

So, about that new adventure…
I have been trying to get my books over seas. I have contacted different publishing houses and agents. But, although they say that they can see my talent, love the story and the world, they don’t want to take a chance on me. It’s extremely difficult to be published abroad when you’re an author from such a small country as the Netherlands.
But I am not someone who gives up easily!
That’s why I have decided to no longer search for a publisher who wants to take a chance on me. It’s time for my dragons to fly out and for me to spread my wings.

I am going to publish the stand-alone in my Drägan Duma series (An Unbreakable Bond) in English myself! With the blessing of my Dutch publisher Celtica Publishing.

The translation of the book is an advanced state already because of the great Caroline Mackie and I have been busy doing research.
It’s an exciting, but also a bit scary adventure, so I could really use your support! 🙂

I am going to share updates with you on a regular basis, so I really hope you will come back to check on me or hit the follow button. You can also follow me on Facebook, Instag­ram and TikTok where I am more active, but I will make sure to keep you all posted here as well.

Time for an update!

So, what have I been doing this past month?

First of all, I have published my second poetry book: ‘My Whisperings’! Yay! 🙂

 

Of course I am very excited about that! 🙂

I also received an award for the third place in the Hebban Fantasy Awards 2014 for best Dutch fantasy book of the year!

 

That was so awesome, I can’t even explain it!

Still busy with recording the audio version of my Dutch fantasy novel, which is pretty cool and pretty scary lol. 🙂

 

And I finished rewriting my second fantasy novel. Woohoo! I am so happy! 🙂

 

My goals for next month:

Take a break lol

Make a video for one of my poems. Any suggestions about which poem?

Hey everyone,

As you might know, I have published my own poetry book ‘My Wings’ in April this year.

This collection contains 111 poems divided into two parts: My Dark Wings & My Light Wings.

Part 1 My Dark Wings is a collection of dark poetry describing some very recognizable emotions like: grief, fear, frustration, melancholy, depression, but also the strength and courage to battle on no matter what.

Part 2: My Light Wings is a collection of light poetry containing motivation, love, support and the will to enjoy life.

This poetry book is illustrated with some amazing black & white photographic artwork.

Continue fighting my battles

A little April update…

Hey Everybody! 🙂

I thought it would be a good idea to give you all a little update about what is going on in April, since this is such a weird, fantastic, sad, crazy, absurd month for me!

Like I told you all in This Post, my PTSD is really trying to kill me this month. (I saw it coming, but for some reason was too stupid to duck lol)

Anyways, those are pretty much my nights now. Lot of nightmares and flashbacks, but at least I sleep! (sort of lol)

If you are not familiar with PTSD, I suggest you take a look at my post about it right HERE, since I noticed that a lot of people I met through WordPress are battling this.

So, that’s for the crazy and sad part, on to the greatness of April! 🙂

Like you may have noticed, I got my first poetry book published! It’s entitled ‘My Wings’ and you can find all the info about it on This Page.

Pretty awesome huh? 🙂 A year ago I wouldn’t even have dared to dream about it lol!

What some of you might not know, is that I also wrote a young adult fantasy novel in Dutch and that one is going to get published on the 14th of April! (you can find the website of the publisher right HERE) Sorry, it’s in Dutch. 😦

It’s entitled ‘Drägan Duma – Zij Die Hoort’ (Drägan Duma – The Listener)

Anyways, I just received my posters for that book and I would like to show it to you guys because they are so AWESOME! 🙂

So, I am publishing two books almost at the same time. (what the heck was I thinking? lol) but although it keeps me more than busy, I am enjoying every little bit of it! 🙂
