This weekend I was present at the Castlefest for three days to promote and sign my Dutch fantasy book.
It was awesome! π
So, what is the Castlefest exactly?
Castlefest is a medieval/fantasy festival in Holland, held on the first weekend of August in the gardens of Castle Keukenhof in Lisse since 2005. The festival takes part during 3 days on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and includes a fantasy market, Life Acting Roleplaying Games, workshops, a lot of bands and eating and drinking medieval.
I go there with friends and family every year but this year is the first time I am participating as a writer! π
It’s a awesome festival where everyone can be themselves, no matter how crazy that may seem to the rest of the world. It’s very relaxed and there is never any trouble whatsoever.
Check out the photos! π
My books! π A Dutch fantasy book called DrΓ€gan Duma and my poetry book My Wings.
The weather was awesome, so I decided to wear Light on day 1.
Well hello mister giant! π
Beautiful flowers in the castle gardens.
It’s so strange and awesome when fans show up who love your book and want to shake your hand or take a picture with you! π
There are a lot of shows to see this weekend.
People dress up for this event. Some in fantasy, others in medieval.
So I have to fit in as well of course! π
More shows
Danny is handling the promotion! π
And I sign the books! π
Lots of music too. This bagpipe player was awesome. When he played, flames would come out of the pipes!
Dancing by the flowers! π
My pet dragon is guarding the books! π
Three awesome but very tiring days. Time for some relaxation! π
Lots of Love
