A little about Phen
I am a student with the University of Plymouth. I am an aspiring writer, traveller, Taoist and human being. I may not do these very well, but I’m giving it everything I can. I find that writing keeps me sane (sometimes I have issues with engaging with the real world), it allows me to make sense of worldly things, as well as to express and explore my emotions and imagination. I’ve always loved writing and reading, it has been the one constant in an ever shifting reality.
At first I thought there wouldn’t be much going on here. I usually don’t like to share the things I write, too nervous about their reception. This being said I’ve found WordPress to actually be a great, friendly community, and have so far really enjoyed sharing with you all. So much so that I have been trying to post every day.
Phen is one of my favorite poets!
This is one of my favorite poems by him:
Phantasma
–
I fell in love to the music of your night,
Laying my soul bare at your feet,
As naked as our interlocking bodies
On that fatefully metamorphic night,
–
Who knows when love takes flight?
Is it simply there inside a heart?
Through echoes of connections
We fool senses to abandoned defences,
–
Sweet emotive taste came forcefully,
Holding tight and firm to the faint fever
Of faces in your mirror, And all I asked?
Hope, longing, one love, one lifetime,
–
Were we so young for foolish dreaming?
In your eyes I never lived, shackled,
Blind to every scene in our romance,
Your perfect face paraded pretence
–
Of hearts purpose, a masquerade,
And now I am the phantom, ever lost
To your narcissistic memories,
Yet you still do not see all I gave
–
To feel your longing through dark light,
To each other we are nothing more
Than the ghosts of so many years ago,
Faded notes denying the music of the night.
