Hey Everyone!
I am a little behind on my update this month, but here it is!
I haven’t been around much because I had some problems with my health, but I am improving now. Also, I have been very busy finishing my fantasy book and I am working on two poetry books.
First of all, I want to show you all my concept cover for my first fantasy book because I am absolutely in love with it! 🙂
Here it is, pretty awesome huh? 🙂
The cover is designed by Dominik Broniek. Dominik was born in 1975 in Poland. He was drawing and painting all his young years, selling his artworks to private customers, until he met his first publishers and started 10 year long cooperation as a graphic artist. Meanwhile he worked also on commissions for publishing houses from Czech Republic, Canada and USA. During those years he illustrated more than 200 books.
Since 2011 Dominik lives in the Netherlands. He’s doing digital art, as well as traditional pencil drawings, oil paintings and tattoo projects.
At the end of April, my book will be available. Sadly, it’s written in Dutch. 😦
I hope it will be translated someday, but I wanted to share it with you guys anyway.
This is a translation of what is written about my book on the site of the publisher, which you can find here: http://www.celtica-publishing.nl/weblog/celticapublishing
Blood against the car window…
Jill suffers from a nightmare about the accident in which she lost her mother every night. She never knew her father.
The night that Jill turns 16, she wakes up and looks outside her bedroom window. On the field across the street she sees a strange shadow. It’s a dragon! Convinced that she’s still dreaming, Jill goes outside.
There she meets the Drägannymare Jordian, a dragon knight from Drägan Duma.
Drägan Duma is a parallel world where humans have a bond with dragons to fight the evil Morbiden. Jill is destined to become a dragon knight because of her bloodline on her father’s side. She only gets a couple of days to decide if she wants to become a Drägannymare and leave her own world behind. Confused she gets left behind by Jordian.
Does she really wants to leave everything behind to become a dragon knight on the strange world called Drägan Duma?
She Who Listens is the first book of the compelling Drägan Duma trilogy where a huge responsibility lays before Jill. The book combines some very recognizable feelings of a young girl with the magic of a new world with different habits, strange creatures and a whole new language. The writer from The Hague, Patty van Delft, makes her debut with Drägan Duma – She Who Listens.
In this book, loss and grief will play their part, but also friendship and heroism. Far from the world she has known her whole life, Jill will discover who she truly is…
Drägan Duma – She Who Listens is available this April in every online bookshop.
So I am pretty excited! 🙂
I am also working on two poetry books which I hope to publish this month.
My Dark Wings and My Light Wings.
My Dark Wings will be part 1 and in this book you can find a collection of my dark poetry. It contains some of my older work, rewritten, some new poems and even some of my shorts and Haiku’s. Of course the book will contain a couple of my art photos as well, which I have re-edit for the purpose of this book.
My Light Wings will be part 2 and in this book you can find a collection of my light poetry. Also a combination of rewritten older work and new poems as well.
I hope I will be able to show you the covers for these two books very soon.
As you can see, I have been pretty busy! Lol. 🙂
My goals for next Month:
Life:
- Taking some time to relax
- Expend my sporting to 3 times a week
- Develop a better sleep pattern.
Writing:
- Publish my two poetry books
- Create a Facebook page for my writings
- Figure out how to sell books! Lol! 🙂
Lots of love
Patty
Awesome cover! I’ve seen ones similar, with the up-close dragon eye, but never quite like this. The person reflected in the eye is stunning and makes the cover ‘pop’. Very unique. Very eye-catching.
Hey Will! 🙂
How lovely to see you around my blog again!
And thank you, I am very happy about the cover! Okay…I have to stop typing !!!! 🙂
Hugz! (did it again) 🙂

Thank you! 🙂
I am very excited about it!
Lots of love
Patty, This post “knocks it out of the ballpark,” as they say in baseball!!!!!!!!! “Dragon Duma” trilogy starting with “She Who Listens” is perfectly all YOU with “loss and grief” & “friendship and heroism.” You, Jill, will certainly enter that world of “Drägan Duma.” It’s your escape world & dynamite for a fantasy novel!!! On top on that as if that were not enough, “My Dark Wings” & “My Light Wings” putting together poetry new & old is QUITE ambitious! So what do you do?….spell out your goals for the next month BESIDES all of the above! (which I won’t even get into how you will do all that!). –Only to say best wishes with my admiration & compliments for all you are doing despite all else you are coping/contending with! Phil
Thank you so much my friend! 🙂
Yes, I am quite ambitious lol!
But I think that the best way of making your dreams come true is fight for them with everything you have!
Works out pretty well for me lol 😉
Lots of love and hugz ♥
Take all the time you need to recover fully. That is of greater importance than being concerned with your blog followers. Wish you a quick and full recovery, Patty. I’ve learned patience, well some small bit, over my many MANY years.
Thank you George.
I know, but having patience is something on my to do list for sure!
Lots of love ♥
