My friend Jade has made a brand new blog!
About Autism’s Child
Autism’s child is my eight year old son.
He was born on the 26th April 2005 and little did we know, just how much our lives would change a mere seven weeks later.
The last eight years of my life have been without doubt, the most difficult and trying times that I have ever encountered. With the love and support of my family, my wonderful husband and my precious ten-year old son, I have survived. We have survived.
Today, we have a very happy and contented child who is registered as severely disabled. His official diagnosis includes severe autism, severe learning disabilities, global developmental delay, ataxia, eczema, asthma and epilepsy. He is mobile, he is non-verbal and he has limited understanding. He also has challenging behaviours.
Through the medium of this blog, I want to share his story, share our story in the hope that it may provide comfort, support and help to others, but I also want to open myself up to families who can relate. Families who are also living this reality.
I hope that together, we can all survive. And I hope that we can all find a way to live.
This is wonderful! I know that there are a lot of people who are struggling on a daily basis to raise a child who needs a special way of caring. As a teacher, I have accounted many parents who felt as if they were all alone in this. So, if you want information or share stories about autism, adhd, add or any other form of condition that asks for understanding and another way of living, please, come over to this great blog —> http://autismschild.wordpress.com/ and lets all stand in this together!
Lots of love
