I was writing this poem about my heart as it is right now. Then I remembered that my brother also wrote one about his heart one day.
I will post them both.
My Heart
Delightfully dead
Asleep and perfectly still
A heart that once was full of life
Petrified by unfortunate events
Black from the evil inside the tissue
Shattered dreams clogging the arteries
Yet still able to function normally
Descriptions of my own lifeless organ
I carry around a damaged shell
Riddled with Rot and motionless skin
Afraid to uncover what’s on the inside

Both poems show a great depth of emotion.
Thank you Kelly. Hugz ♥
Gifted poets…both! Palatable pain. You are going to get sick of me saying this – keep writing Patty. Let it all out!
I will my friend. Hugz ♥
Everything is well said and beautifully written
Thank you Bee. Your kind words mean a lot to me. ♥
Such pain and talent mixed xo
Thank you so much. ♥
Writing about the pain helps a bit. I think it did for my brother as well.
Writing is such a gift isn’t it? It sounds like he was pouring out his heart in that poem. xo
Yes, he really was brilliant. Hugz to you ♥
Something in me is frozen, but I’m dragging it along. Hoping the ice will break off and allow life, still.
I touch him again, through is poems. And stunned again over this. So sometimes if I don’t write something, I’m sitting in silence over it. In stun. Frozen. Again. But thank-you for sharing him Patty.
Shane was so clear. Love his heart forever. I will NEVER forget. But I love that you are working through this through your lovely poetry… and it is lovely… much love to you Patty. 🙂
Thank you my dear friend.
I know. He will be with us and his family forever.
Lots of Love and Hugz ♥
